Job Overview

The Communications Manager will work closely with Coke Consolidated’s Communications Director to oversee the company’s external communications, as well as communications for the company’s subsidiary, Red Classic. This includes management of Coke Consolidated and Red Classic’s social media channels, media relations and websites. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer with a passion for external communications and the flexibility to communicate on a range of topics, from the 300+ brands bottled and sold by Coke Consolidated, to the company’s Purpose to serve others, to our sustainability efforts across 14-states.



Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage social media communications and channels for Coke Consolidated and its subsidiary Red Classic
  • Manage social media agency of record, including development of paid and organic social campaigns, audience targeting strategy, collaboration with creative teams, copywriting, performance analytics, reporting and budget
  • Manage content calendar, working closely with leadership to align external communications with news, industry events and other relevant content
  • Draft and review communication materials, including news releases, scripts, talking points, blog posts, briefings and other external-facing content
  • Proactively pitch stories to key news media
  • Monitor and share media coverage for relevant stories that mention the Company or pertinent issues


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience with social and emerging media
  • Creative copywriting, basic spelling/grammar and the ability to review others' writing
  • Ability to plan and organize own workload while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to balance a strategic view with day-to-day, hands-on deliverables
  • Comfort developing PowerPoint presentations a plus
  • 5-7 years of experience in communications, social media, marketing, public relations, or similar field


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years)
  • Knowledge acquired through 5 to up to 7 years of work experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
  • Agency experience 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite to edit or create basic collateral materials for digital channels 
     


Work Environment

  • Office Environment 
  • Hybrid: In office 3 days a week, remote 2 days a week (subject to change)
