Job Overview

The Data Quality Analyst is responsible for developing and implementing the working components of a data quality program; analyzing how master data interacts with the organization’s business processes and identifying process improvements and opportunities for automation. This position will perform data acquisition, manipulation, distribution, and analysis while demonstrating an understanding of what data is within the context and how it is maintained. The Data Quality Analyst will build automated rules to check the quality of the data; continuously monitor the quality of the data, and provide insights on how to prevent data quality errors in the future.



Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with leadership to define and document what data means and the lifecycle it undergoes within the respective systems by developing and, or understanding Data Dictionaries and presentations that explain what data is and how it impacts the organization for non-technical audiences
  • Designs and builds data quality rules and profiles within technical systems to continuously monitoring the quality of the data and prevent data quality errors in the future
  • Provides reporting and analytics through the use and development of Data Exception reporting in related technologies (Information Steward, Tableau, Excel, Automated QA regression testing systems)
  • Develops and manages data quality projects, communicating timelines, estimates, and milestones and identifying and communicating risks and mitigation plans
  • Leads the facilitation of training and education by working with teams to understand current processes and proposed changes and supporting the creation and distribution of existing information related to the Master Data
  • Leads process improvement initiatives regarding Master Data by analyzing existing internal processes and proposing solutions for process automation, data profiling, and data standards, and working with internal stakeholders to develop roadmaps for business process changes


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience working directly with the non-technical audience with strong customer service skills and relationship building skills
  • Ability to document step by step procedures and govern those procedures
  • Must have a solid understanding of how to join and manipulate data within a database
  • Experience with SQL, HANA, SSMS, Information Steward, SAP Tables and Processes
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to gather data, statistically analyze the data, and make fact-based decisions
  • Must be able to balance attention to detail, principle with delivering value to the business action
  • Strong technical skills in working with and understanding systems, file structures, and databases
  • Team player


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge acquired through 1 to up to 3 years of work experience
