Job Overview

The Data and Integration Architect is an experienced and seasoned Solutions Architect/Engineer with a broad range of technical skills and a deep understanding of software design patterns and technologies used in complex solution development. This position will be expected to actively guide the technical design and development processes as a subject matter expert for multiple concurrent major projects and large system enhancements. This position will be expected to develop a deep understanding of multiple complex systems, and how they fit together, from both a business process and technical perspective

Duties & Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leverages domain expertise in enterprise-level integration architecture to enable efficient data movement across all solutions.
  • Serves as a domain expert and leads the definition of the enterprise integration framework, patterns, toolsets, and processes.
  • Serves as a key member in defining the enterprise’s future state data landscape by continuously analyzing current trends within the industry and presenting strategies and recommendations to the larger Architecture team for inclusion in the technology roadmap.
  • Proactively mentors developer and architect peers in regards to system knowledge and development technologies and processes, as well as performing design reviews ensuring compliance with CCCI reference architecture and best practices.
  • Assembly and presentation of technical options to project teams and management where needed.
  • Primarily works outside of the Agile & Delivery teams to provide the foundational support required to meet the needs inside the delivery teams or other Communities of Service.

Minimum Qualifications

  • ​​​​3+ years architecture experience (by role or function)
  • 7+ Years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines/domains, including technical architecture, application development, middleware, database management, cloud management, mobile management
  • 5+ years within the domain of data & integration with a proven record of implementing solutions, frameworks, and processes to meet both architectural and business needs
  • 3+ years of MS Azure (strongly preferred) or other cloud computing provider experience - serverless computing, service-oriented concepts, distributed systems
  • Experience with RESTful API design concepts with a strong preference for resource-centric design, advanced level understanding of API-First design principles, and familiarity with the Open API Specification (OAS)
  • Experience with API Gateway and API Management concepts and platforms
  • Advanced understanding of integration types, frequency, and consistency considerations (i.e. real-time, near-real time, batch, eventual consistency, file-based, event-based, ETL/ELT, API, sFTP, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of the authentication and authorization considerations related to data and integration (i.e. oAuth, data masking, least-privilege concepts)
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and logging requirements of distributed systems and services along with the ability to design stable solutions within this paradigm.
  • Strong communication skills, proven experience in complex process documentation, and an ability to communicate with both technical and business partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with messaging and queues, pub-sub patterns, and event-driven concepts
  • Experience with data modeling and domain-driven design
  • Understanding of API Testing methodologies and toolsets such as ReadyAPI, LoadUI, Postman, Dredd, or other API governance and testing tools
  • Certifications within the Data and/or Integration domain
  • Experience with CI/CD DevOps Concepts and Practices
  • Familiarity with Master Data Management concepts (Data Cataloging, Data Lineage, Data Quality and Reconciliation, etc.)
