Job Overview

The IT Engineer is responsible for the design, configuration, and monitoring critical IT systems keeping the systems functioning in a stable and secure operational mode. Ensures system requirements are established and maintained for operations development, security requirements definition, systems risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, systems test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and provides analytical support for policy development and analysis; will interface with external entities including vendors and other organizations and agencies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and performs root cause analysis on systems issues in order to ensure quick service restoration of problems as per best practices  
  • Designs and develops new systems, applications, and solutions for enterprise-wide systems and networks and assists in the documentation of processes, procedures, and resolution information.
  • Integrates and supports new and existing architectural features into infrastructures, implements artifacts, provides analysis of system features and relates existing system/applications and security to future needs and trends, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration and testing issues.
  • Evaluates existing network systems and planning short-term strategies to ensure IT capacity meets current and future network requirements; conducts feasibility studies on tactical plans. Performs technical analysis of software, hardware, and systems, systems engineering for front-end processors, multiplexors, LAN/WAN communications, network nodes, switches, and various transmission systems 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • An understanding of Office 365 Azure and Exchange policies along with all aspects of Office 365 services (Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams and Azure Active Directory) including security, monitoring, disaster recovery and Legal Discovery.
  • Development and scripting languages such as (SQL, PowerShell, JavaScript, HTML5, XML, and C#)
  • Review projects of various scope and complexities in order to support business objectives. Update management of evolving development technologies including design patterns and software coding and architecture methods along with budgetary needs.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a servant leader mentality
  • Ability to think quick on their feet and outside the box to resolve difficult situations
  • Strong Analytical and self problem solving abilities
  • Design, write specifications, develop programs, test, document, implement and support business solutions of varying degrees while maintaining the highest of quality.
  • Communication and cross collaboration skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience

  • Computer Programming
