Job Overview

The Data Management Community of Service, IT Solutions Engineer II is responsible for providing data expertise; collecting information, including customer requirements needed to develop IT data-centric solutions; analyzing highly complex business data and functional design requirements; and writing technical specifications to design or redesign sophisticated computer platforms and applications. This position will also provide functional design direction to IT Development Engineers; develop highly complex original concepts and solutions; and verify program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, proof of concepts, testing, and debugging of programs. In addition, this position may execute solution testing and the migration of platforms and applications into production, and develop new documentation, departmental technical procedures, and user guides.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides expertise regarding the business process and full life-cycle of the data from origination to targets
  • Translates technical specifications and business reporting requirements into conceptual data models, or application code to build out enterprise system applications including validating quality, security, and compliance requirements are met for supported area
  • Analyzes and provides functional knowledge and direction to IT Development Engineers 
  • Partners closely with IT Development Engineers to derive highly complex and original data related concepts and solutions
  • Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures, and user guides by developing training and documentation for teammates and end-user to increase efficiency, technical acumen, and product/system knowledge
  • Supports master data, data quality automation initiatives.
  • Participates in Scrum events including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, Backlog Grooming, and coaching team(s) to become self-organizing and self-managing
  • Assures data quality, security, and compliance requirements are met and oversees the creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plans
  • Provides ongoing support, maintenance activities, and other duties as determined by the team

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • 3 or more years experience working with data integration requirements, data mapping
  • 1-2 years experience with conceptual data modeling
  • 1-2 years experience working with data governance support and master data.
  • Data Integration and Data warehousing specific Experience is Mandatory
  • 2-3 Years of Agile Delivery in a Matrixed Organizational Structure is a plus.
  • 3 Years of SDLC experience – development experience is a plus. 
  • Tools, Frameworks and best practices
  • 1-3 Years MS Azure Environment Development experience is a plus
  • 1-2 Years MS Azure DevOps operational (pipeline) experience is a plus
  • 1-2 Years experience working with data frameworks 
  • 2-3 Years of Data integrations and exchange frameworks (jSON, XML, EDI) experience
  • Strong Analytical and self problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of the  data integrations and data warehousing functions
  • Strong documentation/technical writing skills
  • Understands and enforces the design principles and best practices across the enterprise by leveraging other communities of Service (COSs) and Tech Partners where viable

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge acquired through 3 to up to 5 years of work experience
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school
