Job Overview

The Facility Manager III is responsible for managing a full-service facility, including a fleet of trucks; trailers, drivers, driver managers, dispatchers, and assistant planners. The Facility Manager III will ensure optimal productivity, service levels, and revenue while meeting the needs of our drivers and customers in the assigned facility(s). The position is also responsible for the selection, development, retention, coordination, direction, and supervision of all facility, area activities, and personnel. This is the highest level of facility manager with supervision of other managers, hourly and salaried department personnel.



Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides a high level of customer service and leadership to assigned drivers to establish a good working relationship with each driver in the assigned area. Expected to meet or exceed commitments with customers in assigned regions
  • Ensures the meeting or exceeding of the driver and owner-operator capacity needs, retention goals, and customer commitments in the assigned region. This is done by effectively communicating with assigned customer personnel on all levels while developing positive and solid relationships to enhance growth, and working cross-functionally to resolve customer or company operational issues when necessary
  • Ensures optimal driver, unit performance, utilization, and revenue by providing training and supervisory oversight to the planning and dispatch personnel
  • Manages facility operations to ensure that all personnel complies with all company policies, procedures, processes, safety rules, and governmental regulations. This includes Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, namely hours of service
  • Manages, leads, and motivates a team to deliver results by communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines; engaging and developing teammates through effective performance management, coaching, and training
  • Implements continuous improvement methods while maintaining customer focus, and embodies company purpose and values to inspire servant leadership


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to work under stress while remaining professional at all times. Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented either verbally or in writing. Ability to recognize, evaluate and resolve problems using independent judgment
  • Ability to communicate well with others using above-average writing skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to take direction and follow-through
  • Map and Google reading skills required
  • Detailed oriented, be proactive instead of reactive
  • Capable of working independently, without constant supervision
  • Experience with Excel and Tableau
  • Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMW Preferred)
  • History of Metric Driven Performance Management


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years) or 10 years of relevant work experience
  • College Field Of Study: Logistics and Supply Chain Business Management 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge acquired through 7 or more years of work experience
  • ALTERNATIVE WORK EXPERIENCE 7-10 Years Transportation Management experience
